How Custom Works
1. Choose your diamond
Browse our diamonds online and send us your shortlist. We’ll have them ready to view in Chicago, or share details by email.
2. Share your design
Send photos of the setting you want. We can make one of ours, modify it, or recreate your design. You’ll get one quote for the stone and setting.
3. Approve the details
A 50% deposit starts the work. You’ll review a 3D rendering, and the wax model too if you’d like, until it’s just right.
4. We make it
About 2 to 3 weeks after approval. After final payment, pick it up in Chicago or we’ll ship it to you.

Visiting Us in Chicago
Appointments are the best way to see loose diamonds or ready-to-ship pieces in person. They’re a great fit if you have a shortlist of stones, or you’ve found a ready-to-ship piece and want to see it before you buy. Before you book, send us the pieces you’d like to see. We prepare every appointment by pulling your stones from our main office, so everything is ready when you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “MTO” mean?
Any SKU with MTO in it is made to order. It’s made for you after you order, so it’s usually not available to view in person.
Do you work with clients outside Chicago?
Yes. We work with clients remotely by email, from choosing your diamond to approving your design, and ship the finished piece to you.
Do you have lab grown diamonds in the shop?
We source lab grown diamonds when you order, so they aren’t kept in house. Our in-house inventory is natural diamonds, especially old cut diamonds.
Will my stone fit this setting?
Each setting lists the stone sizes it fits. Most made-to-order settings can also be adjusted to fit your stone for an additional fee.
Can you design something new for me?
We recreate and customize designs rather than design from scratch. Send photos of the design you’d like and we’ll make it for you.
How long does a custom piece take?
About 2 to 3 weeks after you approve the design. The design stage depends on how many changes you’d like.
Do I need to know my ring size?
No. We can measure you in the shop, or help you figure it out if you’re ordering remotely.
Can I talk to the designers?
Your consultant is your point of contact for everything, including design changes. They work directly with our designers for you.
Can I see photos while my piece is being made?
We make many pieces at once, so we don’t share in-progress photos. You’ll approve the 3D rendering before production starts, and you can view the wax model if you’d like.
