It is likely that the sapphires are synthetic, as this was typical for the time period; however, importantly, they are original to the piece and were cut by hand to fit the setting perfectly. The setting is made from solid 14k white gold. The ring measures 22.3mm across (north south) and 3.1mm from finger to top.
