VICTORIAN SALTWATER PEARL OLD CUT DIAMOND NECKLACE ANTIQUE PENDANT GOLD PLATINUM
An extraordinarily rare find, this original Victorian era necklace is completely unique and utterly elegant! Expertly crafted around the turn of the 19th to 20th century, the pendant features a combination of cultured and natural saltwater pearls accented by ¼ carat of old mine cut diamonds! Natural (not cultured) saltwater pearls are extremely rare, so the addition of saltwater pearls makes this pendant a particularly special find! Gorgeously designed with a sweeping heart motif, this necklace is full of old world charm and absolutely one of a kind. A gorgeous and rare work of art that carries with it all the pathos of the Victorian era, this pin is imbued with history and longevity, a beautiful and enduring artifact of the past.
The pearls have been certified by GIA to confirm their origin. The pearls are all lustrous and well preserved. They are white in color with gorgeous luster. The necklace features a combination of cultured (farmed) pearls, and pearls that are completely natural in origin and of the saltwater variety. Pearls that have formed naturally are extremely rare and valuable, and this is a fantastic collection! The largest of the pearls are all naturally formed. The cultured pearls on the pendant are all akoya pearls. The old mine cut diamonds are beautifully white and completely eye clean, graded F-H for color and VS1-SI1 for clarity. The diamonds are hand cut, making each one charmingly unique. The necklace is made from 14k yellow gold, and the pendant is topped with platinum. The pendant measures 28.2 x 22.2mm. The necklace is 18 inches long
